Baby milk is a complementary lactation feed for orphan foals or subjects fed to mares that produce insufficient milk to meet their needs or are recalcitrant, refusing to lactate.

Dissolve the powdered feed to be reconstituted in hot water (40°C) until a homogeneous solution is obtained and feed it to the foal at 37°C, initially through a bottle and starting from the second week with a bucket.

The amount of powder to be reconstituted may vary based on the foal’s birth weight, breed, and the availability of low-producing nursery or mare milk.

The quantities of complementary lactation feed indicated in the table refer to a foal with a birth weight of about 50 kg.

Do not store reconstituted milk. Thoroughly wash the containers used to reconstitute and administer the milk.
